Home / How it works

How the system of decision works.

Identity resolved at the moment of the interaction, scored in milliseconds, matched to an offer, and returned before the page paints or the agent speaks. Every outcome is written back, so the next decision is better than the last.

Intelligent Handshake is built as three components that multiply. Take any one away and the decision is worth nothing: no moment, nowhere to act; no model, no judgment; no offer, nothing to choose.

The moments

Where

Where a decision can be made: the call, the page, the order, the inbox, the ad, the mailbox.

The products
The models

How well

The graph, the score, and the models trained on what every visitor did next. They improve with every decision.

Inside the models
The offers

What to choose

The offer, bundle, price, path, and script to choose from. A score with nothing to choose produces nothing.

How offers scale
The decisions

The unit

One scored interaction: who arrived, what they are worth, and what to show them. The IH Score returned in milliseconds, measured on what happened next.

  • What we operate

The moments: Commerce Infrastructure. It carries a decision into the live revenue path: before the greeting, before the paint, at the order.

  • What compounds

The models: Commerce Intelligence, and the outcomes that train them. Every decision writes back what the visitor did, so the intelligence builds on itself and cannot be bought.

  • What scales

The offers: Commerce Doctrine. Proven judgment about what works, written down as doctrine and produced at scale with AI, so the models always have the right thing to choose.

Commerce Infrastructure

The moments.

A moment is anywhere a visitor is in front of you and about to choose: who is this, what are they worth, and what do we show them, answered before anything is shown. Each product is a moment, and every moment runs the same six stages.

  1. SignalThe visitor arrives: a call connects, a page loads, a button is about to be pressed. DNIS and ANI on the call; the Intelligent Tag on the page.
  2. IdentityThe moment opens. Nothing shown yet, everything still changeable. The visitor is resolved, cross-device.
  3. GraphThe visitor is matched against the portfolio customer graph: one durable view across brands, devices, and channels.
  4. DecisionThe standard decision model scores the visitor and chooses the offer and the path. Inline, in milliseconds, non-blocking. Other models from the model library plug in here.
  5. ActivationThe moment acts on it: the route, the page, the order button, the send.
  6. AttributionThe moment closes. What the visitor did is attributed to the decision that caused it, kept as a Decision Record, and used to train the models.

Before the greeting

<100ms

The score lands before the agent finishes the first sentence. Routing, offer, and risk posture are set while the phone is still ringing.

Before the paint

<100ms

The page decides what to show before it finishes rendering. No flash of the wrong offer, no second load.

Every shift, every day

24/7

Call floors, checkout, and outbound run against it continuously. Load-bearing in daily operations, not a seasonal campaign layer.

If Intelligent Handshake is unavailable, the page still loads and the call still connects. Nothing in the revenue path waits on it.

The three capabilities your stack is missing.

Graph

The graph remembers

One durable view of the visitor behind every inbound interaction, across brands and channels. It keeps what every other system forgets.

Decision

The models decide

The models that turn everything the graph knows into an action, in-session: the offer, the route, the risk posture.

Attribution

Attribution closes the loop

Every outcome is attributed to the decision that caused it and kept as a Decision Record. The outcome trains the models it came from, so the system compounds with volume.

One graph. One decision layer. Every channel.

Every signal enters once. The graph compounds. Every decision uses everything, and every outcome teaches it.

Every outcome trains the graph and the models. All three are IH proprietary.

Commerce Intelligence

Inside the models.

A decision platform, not a dashboard. The models are where the value accrues: they learn from every decision across every moment, and they are the reason the hundredth decision is better than the first.

  • SignalEvery interaction, event, and piece of the brand's own first-party data, resolved to identity. Every signal enters once.
  • GraphThe portfolio customer graph: one durable state per person across brands, devices and channels.
  • FeaturesMarket, location and season; product, offer and creative; the visitor, the action, and the decision.
  • Model libraryThe asset we keep buildingPropensity, value and lifetime value, affinity and intent, risk, and path ordering. Versioned, registered, and retrained on every outcome. Every deployment adds to it, and it is the part of Intelligent Handshake that cannot be bought by starting later.
  • DecisionRealtime scoring in milliseconds: policy, ordering, and the score returned to the moment.
  • RecordEvery decision written back as a Decision Record, kept in the Decision Ledger.

IH Scoreclick to cycle

For a High buyer: a bundle, payments, buy direct, and the full script.

A score is only as valuable as what it has to choose from. The offers are the oldest asset in the system: decades of direct response judgment about which offer works, for which buyer, on which channel. Written down, that judgment becomes something models can act on and AI can produce at scale.

  1. DoctrineJudgmentWhat works, for whom, on which channel, written down as rules: offer architecture, price ladders, script structure, proof points.
  2. GenerationAI at scaleEvery cell filled to the doctrine. Thousands of on-brand variants in hours, not a studio queue.
  3. SelectionThe modelsThe score picks which variant this visitor sees, at this moment, in milliseconds.
  4. GradingThe recordWhat was shown and what happened comes back as a record. Variants are ranked by revenue, not by opinion.

LearningThe grading updates the doctrine. Round four is better than round one because the buyers said so.

The lift lives here

Order value moves with the offer

A score routing visitors to the same page produces nothing. Revenue moves because the offer moved.

It is the oldest asset

Before any model

Knowing which offer works on which buyer predates every model. It is the judgment the models are trained to extend.

It is the training set

Refusals teach too

Every offer shown and refused teaches the models as much as every offer taken.

The decision.

It happens the moment a visitor calls or lands, before the brand knows who they are. No form fill, no login, no prior history required.

  1. InboundA call arrives (DNIS, ANI) or a page loads (web tag).
  2. IH ScoreThe flagship model returns visitor value and risk in milliseconds.
  3. Every path, in orderDirect, call, marketplace. Offered in score order.
  4. Session DispositionThe outcome returns to the model.

Every decision trains the next one

Where the decision is open.

  • First contact

Decides the moment a visitor calls or lands, before the brand knows who they are. Others decide after the visitor is in a list.

  • Value and risk

One segment says what the visitor is worth and what they cost. Others return identity, fraud, or a message.

  • Every channel, one score

Calls and web share one answer, and every buying path is offered in score order. Others own one channel.

  • Closed loop

Session Disposition returns the outcome, so the model compounds with every decision. That model is the asset.

The flagship model

One score. Six states.

  • HHighFull offer, premium path, live agent.
  • MMediumStandard offer with a reason to decide now.
  • LLowEntry offer, lighter-weight handling.
  • NNon-buyerSelf serve path with a simple offer; agent time protected.
  • RRiskVerification before value.
  • UUnidentifiedDefault experience; the session still feeds the loop.

The flagship model. The IH Score is the standard model in the model library. Other models, and custom models built on a brand's own outcomes, decide alongside it.

Ordered by realized value. In live deployments, revenue per session falls in exact decreasing sequence from H to U.
